Don't hold it to heart...none from Wales, either. Probably mostly family of whoever runs the comp :P
I wouldn't worry about it anyways, we have a Dax vacuum and it's terrible. The 'safety' latch comes loose all the time, meaning it doesn't spin underneath (so doesn't pick much up at all)...so you have to screw it apart every time. It's also solid to push around, the cable is located at the bottom so it constantly goes under the vacuum...I could go on and on!!
I can assure you that Im not a family member !! and you have to write a review of the product you test so you dont have to own a vax product.0 -
Has anyone had the latest e-mail from them (received today)? And what are the chances of being able to keep the product you test? I notice in the Terms & Conditions that you sometimes have to send it back and other times you can keep it. What are people's experiences of this?Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0

2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

Woo hoo..
just received this in an email
Once again we've been overwhelmed by the response to our request for testers for our new upright vacuum cleaner, Mach Air. We've got 15 of these available for review, so we've randomly selected 15 of you for a free product trial:
Miss S Shaw from West Yorkshire
Mrs K Richardson from Bristol
Mr K Pearson from Manchester
Mr G Carstairs fron Balmedie
Mr G Reid from Livingston
Mrs D Ilsley from Oxon
Mrs J Heffer from Wokingham
Mrs D Murray from Lancashire
Ms JC Muff from London
Mrs L Shepherd from Preston
Mr L Ndhlukula from Bournemouth
Miss D Lloyd from London
Mrs F Rios from Devon
Mrs D Singer from Devon
Mrs S Borrows from Potters BarIt does suck lol not one winner picked from Scotland either very unfair imo
JaneDoe, Balmedie is definitely in Scotland. Just to let you know. So, it seems completely random and fair to me.Invented tradition: Couponology

Perhaps Vax picked up on this negativity upon submission of your profile.
Do you really think you could give an objective and unbiased review of any Vax product?
I think you'll find that these are the qualities required as a tester.Invented tradition: Couponology

You have to understand this is the first VAX product I've owned, and bought it under the recommendation that their hoovers are "better than Dyson". But it truly is the worst vacuum I've ever had. It's heavy, extensions fall off, falls over if you try to extend the tube part more than a metre (and usually onto my back). It shreds ANYTHING that gets sucked up (it's broken two headphones already)...this is supposed to not happen due to a 'safety latch' which unlocks when it happens... and then the only way to then reattach it is to take the whole bottom section apart!
But I can't fault their customer service/warranty cover as after it had to go back for repairs 2-3 times, they just sent a new one out. Same hoover, but just a different colour & rebranded.
From reading reviews, it seems it's their cylinder vacuum's which are highly regarded. The upright ones on the other hand get generally poor reviews.
My experience doesn't mean I automatically have a vendetta against Vax... quite the opposite really as I'm interested in seeing if it is just a bad apple. So I just take it as an unlucky experience, as the hoover gets bad reviews on all review sites, so much so it's now discontinued.
As a business, I would rather let somebody with a prior bad experience test it than somebody who loves every product they've owned. Or at least a varied selection.0 -

Your last post was extremely negative, but your second post certainly clarifies matters.
As I said earlier, a reviewer needs to be impartial (neither for nor against from the outset, but to review the product completely on its merits/actions/faults).Invented tradition: Couponology

This now appears to have closed.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
