Help advice please

I hope someone can advise me. I recently married my new husband and we live in his property which we have put up for sale. We are both in full time employment and have approx £100K as a deposit for new property. We went to the Nationwide tday (where mortgage is currently) and applied for larger mortgage in both our names. I have debts outstanding from before we were married but these are being paid off monthly. We are looking to borrow £155K. At the moment it is being referred to the head office. Does anyone have any advice for me if we (I) are refused.

"some debts" = vague. Might be ok, might not.
If you mean DMP or IVA, or CCJs and/or defaults, then probably = declined. Wait until your debts are cleared. With that deposit you could clear them quickly and still leave a decent Loan-To-Value...?
Putting it in his name only might be attempted, but is not likely to succeed due to the close financial relationship that you now enjoy through your marital status.0
