Are your OR a bit slow too?

I checked my credit file about 2 months after I was discharged this year - saw that one of my creditors was showing I still owed them money, which wasnt correct as they had been included within the bankruptcy, plus there was no mention of me being discharged on the credit files either.

I emailed my contact at the OR I'm with asking her to please look into why one creditor still thought I owed them money and why it wasnt showing as I was discharged - I even asked that if it's something I can do can she send me my discharge certificate (as I havent got one)

It's been nearly 2 months since that first email, I have re-sent it asking for an update, yet still no reply - I know it's been read as I put a read receipt on the emails.

What else can I do???

  • Hi - thanks for that, I 'thought' I'd give my OR a chance to at least reply back saying as I'd like to hear from them that they had informed this particular creditor - but looks like I'll have to do the letter.

I didnt recieve anything formal (i.e. the discharge certificate) as I know these days you generally dont unless you request them - but I did check on the Insolvency Register a couple of days after my date I was made bankrupt and it was showing me as discharged.

To be honest? its quicker if you start the wheels rolling....the OR's are mega mega busy with an icrease in caseloads now anyhow so you could be waiting a looooong time for a reply...and besides the OR will have informed each creditor anyhow...creditors CAN choose not to listen sometimes though

As for notice of discharge? just print off the insolvency reg page with your details..most creditors are happy with that as proof

  • Thanks for that - I have to hope I did print my details off as I cant find myself on it at the moment - I assume you get taken off of it after you've been discharged for a certain period of time!

Yep you dissapear 3mnths from date of discharge so depending on date you might alrea;dy have gone......you could always telephone your OR's office and ask for confirmation in writing they'll do this for free..probably easier to speak than email as well

you "could" go the official route & get a cert from the court you petitioned at this would cost £60 or so but can be free in some cases depending on benefits your on if any
