For me it was sitting waiting for the counter clerk to come and process our BR forms and a guy walked in who had been evicted from his flat with no notice the night before by his landlord who had become violent towards him, had chucked him out, locked all his possessions in the flat including passport, wallet etc. He had no idea who to turn to or what to do, police had told him to go to the court. The clerks told him they couldnt do anything and he had to go to CAB.

I just felt so sorry for the guy he looked so desolate, it certainly took my mind off the BR !!!

Oh and the couple who were obviously at war with each other in the waiting room, not going BR but woman getting an injunction out on him!!

    :rotfl:
The last bit made me smile...
The first bit, I'm terrible, I'd still wonder what happened to him...I must be mad :D

    xx
  • We had been invited to a dinner party the night before and I was seated next to a rather charming solicitor named Steve.
Lo and behold the next day, Steve spotted the pair of us in the BR waiting room. We were mortified, but he was really cool and said 'go for it, you're doing the right thing'. Still embarrassed though.

I remember being the only quiet (read silent), sullen faced & miserable looking person of the bunch. The others petitioning for BR were chatting and laughing whilst we sat in the waiting room.

Me too, it felt like I was the only one there who felt mortified about the situation, the others looked like it wasn't their first time. It took a long time to feel right about the situation, I was very uncomfortable spending money on anything for 2 years.
  • The panic when the judge got real nasty on me - yes agreed my case was messy and high figures, but still - have a heart and read between the lines...

Then the relief when the OR turned out to be a bit more in touch with reality :-)
