Who should I contact?

Hi
I'm hoping someone will be able to give me the answer to this. I need to contact someone at CSA to find out about payments I have not received but as I have not received paperwork from them for about 2 years, I haven't got any phone numbers to use. I think my case office was Birkenhead - should I just use the 'contact us' tel number from the website or does anyone know of a different one?
Also, I read on another thread about getting copies of records from them via the Data Protection Officer - what sort of info would they send you?
I've had serious problems with CSA since they started back in 1998 and just hearing their name makes me feel physically sick so not looking forward to calling them - however my ex pays through a monthly DOE but I have not received a payment since beginning of June. It is quite 'normal' for them to miss one month then pay twomonths together, however, not receiving anything for almost 3 months is strange. I have thext my ex who says the money hasbeen taken out of his wages as normal so....???? Any suggestions??
Thanks for reading.

perhaps they have lost it like they have done with mine!
You really need to get in touch with them and find out what's going on.
I've never had paper work from them in years. The number I use is 0845 7136000 not sure if that will be any use to you!0 -
You can get the Birkenhead office on 0151 649 0861. May be cheaper than using the 0845 number.0

Follow up all your phone calls with written confirmation of the conversation you have with them.
You may be better off just writing to them in the first instance & keeping a paper trail of all documents sent & received.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)
CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer::beer:0 -
If you can't get through on the 0151 number, then there is an 0845 number for accounts 0845 7138118. The easiest way to avoid paying a lot for the phone call is to ask them to call you straight back. They will put you through to the debt team if there's no payments.....0

Thanks for the replies. Will call first thing in the morning. Try the 0151 number first for the cheapest option. Will ask for a call back but wont hold my breath while I'm waiting - from experience I've learnt never to expect the CSA to do anything they say they will :rolleyes:0

No, you don't ask for a callback. As soon as the phone is answered give them your number and ask them to call you straight back before you give them any info....0 -
Make a complaint in writting as well.0

I phoned this morning - used the geo number first for Birkenhead - didn't recognise my case - then phoned Dudley ( as I'm from the Midlands) and they didn't recognise my case either. Then phoned the geo number for general helpline who said that my case is dealt with by the clerical team at Bolton
Spoke to someone at Bolton who said that apparently another person from there had been trying to contact me with some info although the girl I spoke to couldn't tell me what that info was! She also couldn't tell me who the other person was that had tried to call me (she's in a different dept!) just gave me their ext number and told me try to call again later. I asked if she could find out the info from this other person and call me back but was told they are 'an incoming call centre only - not able to make outgoing calls' !!!!! Is that right? Surely not?
Anyway, will try again tomorrow - they have given me an 0845 number this time though

If you rely on the phone then they will run around the houses! Put it in writing and send it so that they have to signe for it, then there is no question that they have no had it and they will have to respond!0
