Starting a new job, then being offered a better job elsewhere...

Is this common?
Just ask because I have just accepted a job offer for a perm. position, pay is not amazing but it is steady and permanent, however I am going for another interview in a few weeks time for a role with another company which pays far better. What I need to find out is what the hours are as they may not be full time.
Whats the best way to deal with this if I choose to accept the second job offer, I know this seems selfish but It may pay alot better than the job I've just taken.
Want to do the right thing!

Ask the hours before you go for interview!0

From my understanding there are a number of hours available from part-time to full-time. There is a numerical assessment as part of the recruitment process (I have passed this before but only last for 1 year). So Im pretty confident of the AC. The AC/Interview will decide who they want in what role I suppose...
Perhaps I will attend in anycase and see what they offer, after all you have to look after no 1. Dont you?0 -
Definitely go...worst thing that happens - you don't get it. Best thing that happens - you do!
Have an answer ready for 'why have you come for this interview after only being in your current employment for one month' though.
(Unless you didn't mention it of course)!0
