Ok, after a 'long' chat last night, we have decided its now time for me to open a seperate account (my DH is the only one going BR)
My DH really wants someone to come out and sit down with us first, and say to him face to face, yes BR would be the best option, as much as he believes the advice on here and advice from CCCS, he would prefer to do it this way, he's always been so proud of what he's had (who hasn't sometime) and I think this will be a MASSIVE move (as I'm sure it has/is for everyone on here) and I want him to make sure he makes the right decision, rather than just listening to me, passing on advice to him (as DH has only been on the forum briefly to read replies, and its always been me, who's spoken to people like CCCS and National Debtline, so later on this morning, I am contacting the British Legion (as DH an ex-serviceman) and see if they can help, as I just can't get through to the CAB.
Anyway just needed abit of info, for questions below.
As shown on our SOA someone on here, we have £1,000.00 worth of savings (or there abouts) however this excludes the back pay I got paid from the DLA, for our son, this is also still in the joint account, so what do I do, do I remove this into my single account, once I've opened it? (it was for £2,577.00, or £2,677.00, can't remember off the top of my head now)
There's also Child benefit and Tax credits paid into the joint account, can I change my direct debit details with these, so they also get paid into my account?
Obviously we want to get everything sorted and be straight from the start.
Thanks.

I have just been to open the new account for me, but haven't transfered any money into it as yet.0
