Raising electrical poles & wires

Hi, we are about to start to build a new house and unfortunately the planners have pulled our house forward so the electricity lines run right over our roof- we are going to have to get them raised.
:mad:We will need to raise at least 2 poles with transformers. Anyone had any experience of this, as to how much it costs and how long it takes???

Don't know how expensive it was but when my sister built they moved the poles to go round the house rather than above it. Just bear in mind that may be another way to go.0

Have a look on NIE's website for more information http://www.niegetconnected.co.uk/alteration.php
I reckon it won't be cheap though, good luck.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
We've just finished our new build and the electricity poles needed moved. NIE came to the site and said that it was their responsibility and they removed the existing poles and set new poles back, far enough out of the way not to interfere with diggers and it didn't cost us anything.0

Hope it's less than this pensioner was quoted for an electrical supply

Thats good to hear CL, i have since been talkin to the NIE planner for our area and she says the fact that the poles are in our land isnt really our fault so they will probably pay all costs to get them moved or raised!! lets hope shes right!
