Yes.
He should discuss the matter with his steward. Be careful using the term discriminated against.Discrimination occurs on grounds of race, sex, disability. This is an equality issue.
He should be given his rest day and day off and if a holiday falls on one of these days off he should not be treated less favorably because of this. I'm quite sure if you ask any local authority or health board worker how their employer handles this situation you will find it likely the rest day is moved to accommodated the ph.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
If most other people in the OP's OH's work also do 5 days pw, and get the 20 days leave PLUS the 8 bank holidays, then yes, I'd say he is entitled to extra days in lieu or whatever for any BHs which DON'T fall on a Monday.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I think that's all you really need to know. His contract says he is entitled to Statutory Holidays (i.e., Bank Holidays) in addition to his 20 days paid leave - which should, therefore, be 28 days in total, the same as everyone else who works Monday to Friday.0 -
O would agree with Life On Mars..and they did give him Good Friday so they are agreeing he has an entitlement. If everyone gets 8 BH's per year allocation then he should too.The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0
