local newspaper

Having looked into going bankrupt and currently applying to do so, one of the consequences I keep reading up on is the fact that it is put in your local paper. Most of the info I read says you go in the local paper, but I have read a few posts saying this doesn't happen anymore! I am confused as to what is correct. Could someone please advice!

Judging by the number of people going BR - they'd need a separate pull out section! I do know that if you go on to a section of the INsolvancy website there is a database where you can enter a person's name to see if they're listed.

I went Bankrupt yesterday, I asked my OR if it would be in the newspaper , they said just in the London Gazette not our local paper, I havent seen any personal BR in our paper for a while now.

Nope! Not in the local rag anymore unless the OR suspects dodgy dealings...... (due to cost cutting)

You will, however, be immortalised in the London Gazette

A rule passed a few months ago stated newspaper ads were now at the OR's decision....seeing as it costs to place the ads most OR's now dont bother BUT as others said its still placed in the London Gazette

True....but being from the north it's just an old saying......we wouldnt want to be accused of advising people to breach health and saftey issues here would we?

it wont be in your local but are you worried what other people think of you?

Let me tell you something when i was 19 I had a imported nissan sports car what cost me a lot of money this is usually unheard of for a 19 year old

So apparently and instantly Im a drug dealer!!!!! the fact I was a hard worker earning good money I was a car valeter doing only full valets and it worked 6 cars a day. at peoples premises.

"your doing well for yourself" the comments came in thick and fast, family aswell there just as bad at comments etc.

then one day I used my girlfriends rover 100 to go round in local shop etc
I went in the pub later and someone had obv spread something that I was obv going through a bad patch financially ot that kind of thing becuase theyd seem me in the metro!!!!

this is how narrow minded people are they are not your friends and as stated you will be forgotten about in a weeks time..........
