Torn t-shirt

CCP

I've just gone to put something in the shed, caught my t-shirt on a nail and pulled a small hole in it. Naturally, it's my favourite top  - has anyone got any bright ideas on whether it's possible to undo the damage?
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

Depending on where the hole is, an appliqued patch or piece of embroidery?0

Sadly it's a patterned t-shirt so any addition would be obvious. Thanks, though!Back after a very long break!0

you could just sew the hole up? i would see if i could gently pull the gap together to see if i could get away with it or get that stuff trying to think...wonderweb or something that you could place at the back and then iron very carefully so that the cut edges come together nicely as possible.0

Thanks, debtmuncher - that might work! I've got some wonderweb somewhere so I'll dig it out and give your suggestion a go - and I'll be steering well clear of sticking-out nails in future!Back after a very long break!0

wonderweb won't work, it turns to glue when you iron it and will stick to the cloth you use as well as the t-shirt.
You could try using it to stick a patch onto the inside of the t-shirt, that would hold the tear together.0 -
Thanks - I'll have to see if I can find a patch that's near-enough the same colour. I'm SO cross with myself - I knew the nail was there and I still got caught up on it.:mad:Back after a very long break!0

Better ware did i type of stuff similar to wonder web but granules thet sort of melt the edges of the fabric back together, will look in my sewing box0

you can buy fancy iron on decorations, everything from butterfies to skulls depending on your preferance, try a haberdashers, boyes, dunelm mill type shop. (tho I suppose it depend on the location of the hole. otherwise buy matching cotten and just darn it, it will hardly sho if you do it carefully ( I have been quietly doing all my sheets where the kitten has torn holes with her claws trying to get under the covers).0

Thanks, peeps - I'll try and patch it with the aid of wonderweb or some of those granules if you can find out what they're called, icecreamdogpark.
I think darning is considerably beyond my limited handicraft skills - sewing on a button is about as 'crafty' as I can manage!Back after a very long break!0 -
put a small patch between the wonderweb so its the tshirt wonderweb patch. just need to make sure the edges of the hole are as flat as possible0
