    Could you define 'adverse' for us folks not in the know? It may be helpful for people going through the mortgage process. I have fairly big debts - although have never defaulted or missed payments and got a mortgage offer from Nationwide on my door mat within 3 weeks of applying in branch.

    Jaybee5 - Adverse - missed payments, payment arrangements, ccj's, defaults etc

    having big debts in itself is not adverse, which is why you were ok with Nationwide.
