Default Notice

Can I have a default removed from my credit file if the amount on the notice is not correct? How would I go about it? I have the statement of accounts and the default notice and the figure of £115.48 has never been outstanding.

Thanks

You need to negotiate this with the company that generated the default in the first place. It can be a painful experience by to be honest its certainly worth it.

    Good Luck.

I did default but the ammount was £112 and not £115.84. So when the sent the default notice to me, the amount on it did not corrispond to the outstanding debt. Ergo, is this nullified?? I think it's a technicality, but where do I stand legally??

    Thanks

Sorry but all they will do is update the default figure.

The default figure is correct. The default notice was wrong.

You know if you get a parking ticket and they have your date of birth, or registration wrong, or put an offence code then the ticket is null and void, surely it's the same with a default notice???

Well yes and no- things are not quite as clear cut as that. In parking if they get the colour wrong there it is not as material as a reg number.
