Need to help advise. Had our house repossessed last year and was paying the building society back. Stopped making payments as advised by their solicitor until a new agreement had been sorted out.
Have filled out income expenditure forms etc but they are insisting on us supplying three months bank statement and showing proof that we have applied for loans to cover the outstanding amount that is due.
Have been in touch with the National debline who advised that we do not have to supply the bank statements etc.
I have been informed by the solicitor that the information that the National debtline has given is bad advice and they are seeking to get the information from me ie bank statements
Can any one tell me what/who I can speak to get this matter sorted out. I am now a bit wary to go back to the National debtline of they have given me bad advice.
Their solicitor has told us if we do not supply the information they will make us bankrupt and also get an attachment of earning.

They can't make you bankrupt AND get an attachment of earnings. They could, but it's highly unlikely, make you bankrupt and risk not getting a penny. Or they can get a CCJ against you, which if you default on they can then get an AoE. If you don't miss a payment on the CCJ they can't get an AoE.
So it sounds as if the solicitor is leading you up the garden path too

Thanks for your help, it has been appreciated. We made a complaint against the debt agency that Halifax was using and lo and behold the Halifax has stuck up for the debt agency. My husband and i are now looking into what further action against the debt agency/Halifax we can make.
One question is a Common Financial Statement the same as an income/out going form?0
