Supported by top Guardian and Observer cartoonists, artists, illustrators and designers, The Big Draw is an opportunity to learn more about the wide range of art that contributes to the newspapers' success.
All sessions are designed for all ages and abilities and provide the opportunity to:
• participate in a range of drawing, art and creative activities
• learn new techniques and tips for drawing
• design your own cartoon and caricatures
• listen to talks by professionals
Each session runs for two hours. Morning sessions start at 10:30am until 12:30pm. Afternoon sessions start at 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
Please note that this is a family event and that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Sessions are free of charge but places are limited and booking is necessary.

Every October, more than 1000 venues, from village halls and nursery schools to national museums and castles, take part in the Campaign's flagship event, The Big Draw. This month-long programme spans art, science, design and the environment. It connects generations and communities, showing that drawing can be an enjoyable public activity as well as a private passion. The annual Drawing Inspiration Awards recognise the organisers of the most inspiring and engaging Big Draw events. Search here to find events in your area on Big Draw Day, 10 October, and throughout the month. There are lots of half-term family activities, most of which are free.
