Car concerns when made Bankrupt

I am in the process of deciding if Bankruptcy is the best option for me. It is what I have been advised is the best course of action.

My concern is over my car. It is a 51 plate (2001) citroen picasso 1.8. The Parkers guide has it's value at about £1600.

I need the car for work (although I only work about 3-4 miles away) and also dropping off/picking up the kids from grandparents before/after work.

Realistically what chance would there be of the OR making me sell it and buy a cheaper car ?.

The car has been reliable for me so I don't want to get a car sub £1000 that may have/develop problems and cost more in the long run.

There is always a chance, but it would be unlikely. I believe there limit is £2k in value for a car, any higher than that and they are likely to make you sell and buy a cheaper one.

I was allowed to keep my car (worth £1800), for similar reasons as you have mentioned. You living so close to work may throw a spanner in the works though as they may consider you could manage on public transport.

I have just checked the local bus timetable and if I got the first bus I could only get to work at about 7.15am . I start work at 6.30am so wouldn't be able to get their on time.

Hi Everyone

I have a 02 reg Vauxhall Corsa and my car key fob is playin up! It works when you press the alarm on but the button to take the alarm off will not depress.
Does anyone know why this is or is it just plainly broken??
