HSBC countersigned by auditors

I have a mortgage going through with HSBC they are being so slow about this now and i am getting really quite annoyed. I spoke to the underwriting department today and he has said that it is waiting to be countersigned by the auditors???? What does this mean? Anyone able to help? Do you think i have got the mortgage?

i think it means that the underwrited approved your application, but he is waiting for seniors to approve his decision and sign off. Hope is makes sense0
