Mortgage Application Query

Hi,

My partner has just been offered and accepted a permanent position. It is within a different department within the local council where she has been working for the past 3 years. She has been contracting for those 3 years. She has a start date of 21/09/08 for her new permanent role.

We are planning on applying for a new mortgage in early September as our current deal runs out on 31/08/09.

Would we be better putting down her new permanent job details in the mortgage application or the details of her contracting role from the past 3 years?

Thanks in advance.

    No.

It appears to be deemed as some kind of extension of employment.

    The extension being permanent.

The only issue I would have foreseen is if she was going to be on a probationery period as some lenders don't like this. If she is going to be classed as permanently employed then I don't see that it would be an issue as she has previously been working for the same employer.

Do you know which lender you are going to approach?

Have you got an independent mortgage broker?
