bank account

My self and my Oh went bankrupt yesteday, we already had co op account before that we use for wages etc, the Or said it was okay to use these account and took the details of the bank presumably to let our bank know. Should I presume that the coop will be okay with this or should we call them and tell them we are bankrupt? Just worried we get paid on friday and dont have two pennies to rub together right now, so if the acount gets frozen we are in trouble lol

Hi and welcome to the club, is it a basic 'cashminder' account? I believe this is the bankrupt friendly account as it has no cheque or overdraft facilities. It can't hurt to ring the co-op and let them know that you have filed for BR and the OR is happy to let you keep the account. Very unlikely account will be frozen as the co-op are 'experienced' at handling us bankrupts and should know the process like the back of their hand.

  • Thank you Yes it is a cashminder, I just thought it might be polite to let them know from our side too, but then had second thoughts that they might freeze it until they hear from the OR. so wasnt sure which was best.
