hi please could someone help if some one went bankrupt and had say 120.000 pound house with equity of say 16.000 around about how much fees ect would the official receiver take out of it for charges before some of the creditors were payed. thanks

I'm new to this but from what I gather the OR doesn't take an percentage of your assest, they just charge a flat fee when you apply for Bankrupcy. I believe the fees are around £150 for court fees and £350 for the OR. I stand to be corrected so it might worth waiting for a wiser head to confirm what I've just said!

The basic cost to the IS for administering a bankruptcy starts at £1800, there will of course be costs added to this if the case is complicated, or there are costs involved collecting/disposing of any assets.

I know two cases where the bankrupt received a statement at the end of there BR, the final bill was £2500, the other £3300.

That does not mean that is what the IS received however, that would depend on what they re-coupe, for example the £2500 one, they got none of it, as there was nothing for them to claim from the bankrupts estate
