Washer Dryer Best Ones?

Looking to buy a combined washer/dryer as moving to a house that only has space for one appliance.
Totally confused as most of the reviews I have read say they dont dry clothes very well. However, I accept that they are bound not to be as good as a separate dryer but still going to need something that dries my clothes!
Can anyone recommend a good make and model at a reasonable price and also if anyone knows which to avoid too! I had a Hotpoint washing machine and that was a nightmare but my zanussi appliances have been good.
Thanks for your help x

I bought a washer dryer, mine is Servis, worst thing I ever did................
The 30/40 degree cycle takes nearly 2 hrs and the quick wash cycle is Just over an hour.... Also if you have a fair bit of washing to do, when one load has finished you cant dry it and reload the washer and the drying time takes forever.........
That's my opinion, Im working on hubby to try and get shot of this one and go back to a normal washer..........Quit Day - 8th July 2009.0 -

fastest wash is 30, 'proper' wash is 2.26. i usually use the superquick which is 45 and everything is still nice and cleanMSE convert, trying to save the pennies!:T Darling Z born 03/06 and Darling M born 03/09. I make gorgeous boys :T0

i`ve had two washer dryers now worst mistake i made a complete waste of money the first was whirlpool the second was a miele the washer on both was very good, but the dryers took for ever to dry. if you tumble a load could you not buy two seperate appliances and stack one on top0

I had (have) a whirpool and the dryer has packed up but the washing machine still works fine. When it was working properly it did wash and dry the clothes perfectly but since breaking I have found out that they are not the most reliable machines (washer/dryers in general not just whirlpool) and I now have a seperate cheap dryer I got for £80 from Tesco.0

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius & it works well.
If you do al ot of laundry it may not be for you as you can't wash one load & dry another - also if time is an issue be aware that drying in a combined takes a couple of hours not 40 mins or so (I wash a lot of things on the 30 min fast wash) - but if you only have space for one appliance I say go for it

We bought both our daughter's a washer/dryer when they first moved into their own homes. They both had trouble with them (both Zanussi).
One daughter eventually sold hers, bought a washer for the kitchen and a separate dryer which is in the garage. Other daughter uses the washer part of hers and brings her heavy stuff (towels, bedding etc) back home for me to dry for her.
She says a full load of towels can take up to 5 hours to wash and dry
I know it seems a pain, but if you have a garage with a bit if space, I'd recommend you get a separate dryer and house it in there.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
