My grandmother always said her maiden name was 'Brett'. When she died we found out that it was 'Brecht'! Don't blame her for keeping that quiet in wartime Britain.

Very odd. Not sure if it's someone who knew her, or a relation. I asked my parents to write me a time line of things they remember...my mum made what she could into a scrapbook and they both wrote their childhood memories and important dates down in a little book to go with it....It's fab, I've got my great grandparents marriage and death certificates copied in there, a copy of one of my nans ration books, photos of people I've never heard of (didn't even realise mum had some of these photos) and learnt so many things (my dad was in a young offenders place for 2 weeks!!) It's lovely to have and I've started writing down the important bits from my life to be able to pass down to my girlies.....so I urge you all to do the same!

in other news from land of maz - erin has football training tonight and i am going to try for another 4 miles, so twice round the Loch for me again this week.....
