Direct debit V Standing order

Options
Hi all
Newbie here so please be gentle!
My question is this: Can I change my mortgage payments from DD to SO or am I breaking contract?
The mortgage is with Nationwide and I am in the middle of a three year tracker. If this is the wrong place to post this sorry!
