Why?

If in general,endowment policies have been seen as not the best way to invest,why would anyone want to pay a premium to buy a secondhand one?

    Because not all of them are bad. Indeed, many have gone back into surplus again. The media frenzy has meant some are selling endowments with good potential thinking theirs are rubbish when they ar not and its those ones that third parties are interested in.

    Endowments themselves are a dead product because of the complaints issue. Plus the product was priced on legacy terms which would not stand up as competitive today. However, the concept and idea behind it is not flawed.
