If it's fruit, you should be good to get them now - check the best before dates in store if unsure!0

Yeah you should be able to buy them now if they're fruit cake. however i wouldnt take them out the packets yet cos they'll dry out. Unless you have some airtight cake boxesWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

thanks picklepick sorry to ask again but do you think i`ll need to put dowels ( not sure spelling ) those things you stick in to support the 2nd tier and 3rd tier cos we putting them ontop of each other ,wins :- x2 hair dyes ,mascara, epilator, personalised card , glass photo ,comp angels please throw some luck my way

Yes definitely. Having had a cake collapse on me in the past, its hearbreaking having spent hours making it look amazing! Better safe than sorry after all..What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

I would use dowels as that way you'll be sure it won't collapse!0

Hi Debs
I dont think you will need dowels with the ASDA fruit cakes. They are very hard and go on top of each other well. They are tasty and a good price. My sis paid a lot of money for me a chocolate wedding cake which collapsed on itself, two days before the wedding. I whizzed to ASDA which saved the day with their three plain tiered fruit cakes which I decorated with a bit of pink ribbon and the frosting flowers from the original cake, which we rescued from the pile of mush!Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide
Thanks to everyone who post comps - you are all :cool2:0 -
I read on the M&S site that fruit will be ok 12 days beforehand and sponge 5 days beforehand, probs not the same as asda, but you get the jist.
I suppose you could just check the dates on the cakes Debs xx
Oh, was gonna say, instead of stacking and having a problem and instead of messing with dowling/pillars etc, why not get a 3 tier cake stand?
Have a look on ebay, i was looking at them before xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
