welcome finance.... help me!!
I stupidly have a loan with welcome finance.... started it nearly 3 years ago, it should be coming to an end Dec this year, however I have just found out that they have extended it till oct 2010 cause i borrowed extra, when i went and signed on for extra it was said that my payments will go up which they did and that the timescale would stay the same. then after my account manager ( i use this term loosely) harasses me to the point of being a stalker, tells me when i said thank god i end this in December. I also apparently have 3 months of arrears from last year which i was never informed of, and i have never rec'd a statement of my account, if i want one i have to pay £25. I told the so called acc manager that if the DD is not collected and there are funds available it is not my issue and asked why i was never informed to give me a chance to pay on my card, he had no answer.
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with this and I need to know if anyone can help me and if I have a leg to stand on in regards to any of this. I have spoken to the financial ombudsman and all they said was that they would send a letter of complaint for me and Welcome have 8 weeks to reply and if i am still not happy then they may take it further but they cannot give advice and have to remain impartial.
Pleaaaaaaase someone help!!!

For anyone to help you, you either:
1. Need to state exactly what your complaint is here as it's not clear what you are complaining about. Use bullet or numbered points if possible to make it clearer. You also need to include more detail.
OR
2. Collect all your paperwork together plus bank statements and make an appointment with the CAB.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Firstly, Welcome are talking complete and absolute BOLLIX. Their policy might be to charge £25 for a statement that they should by law send to you at a MINIMUM every anniversary of your loan. But it doesn't mean they have a right to do so.
Instead, save yourself £15, and get EVERYTHING that they have on file for you. Do a search for a SAR template here on the forum, and get that off to Welscum with a postal order for £10. In the letter, adapt it to say that you are formally complaining about what you said above.
Important to get a dispute in RIGHT NOW, because Welcome may not have much longer to live, and you need to show their administrators or whoever takes over the running of their accounts that you have issues that need resolving. Do NOT sign the letter with your normal scrawl. Photoshop is a marvelous tool.
I would also look at the possibility of mis-sold insurances (and if you don't know if you were sold any, that's a starting point for complaint, if you WERE sold any), and also reclaiming ALL their stupid telephone, letter writing etc boolsheet charges.
Important to check your agreement too, that what you have been told, and what is down on paper actually tallies.
Some of these people in the local offices have been known to be a little economical with the truth when it comes to dealing with their customers. OK, I really mean they are lying, cheating SCUM. But what do you expect when the example from the very top is to act unlawfully, and YES, even FRAUDULENTLY in some cases.
So sue me, Welcome. I've said nothing that isn't provable in a court of law.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0 -
Sorry olly. My issues are they have elongated my loan without consent & they are now chasing me
A year later in regards to arrears I never knew I had occurred as they never informed me before. And the fact that my so called acc manager is harrassing me everywhere and at all times.
Hippocampus thank you for the advice0 -

Hippocampus thank you for the advice
When you borrowed more money what did the paperwork say about the length of the loan?
Did you not notice that the three payments were not taken last year when you received your bank statement each month?

Who ever checks their banks statements each and every month? I'd hazard a guess and say precious few.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0

Hmm - I'd say most people do I'm afraid, especially now with Internet Banking. If you don't you are asking for trouble.0 -

Probably not the people who come on here telling us how surprised they were to hear they had missed payments on a loan many months ago.

Really? I find this hard to believe. I check mine at least twice a week.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000
DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 2008!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!0 -
Clive to be completely honest, i didn't check my bank statements at that time fully for the fact that i didn't have internet banking, i know its not an excuse and i should have but when you set up a DD and have the funds there you expect that the company will come into your acc to collect how they should be doing.
I however check everything once a week as i have internet banking.
I did check my paperwork and fully read the T&C and spoke to the employee of WF face to face and my timescale was not supposed to increase, just payments which they did.0
