Bailiff question

We currently have a council tax debt with a bailiff company. Unfortunately we have fallen two payments behind. We have the ability to clear this now, however the company are demanding the full balance....which we cannot clear.....by wednesday or they will start seizing goods. Can anyone advise whether this is allowed....or of there is anything else we can do.
Thanks

Did you sign a walking possession? Bailiffs usually demand full payment if you default, but they prefer not to remove goods as you usually cannot cover the costs and the debt.
You tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try';)

We need to be precise here.
Did she sign a walking posession or not?
Do you know what fees have been charged?
What documents were you left with?
What exactly is meant by "the usual stuff"? It is NOT "usual" for a bailiff to take your washing machine for a council tax debt.
The bailiffs can insist on payment in full if you have breached your agreement, assuming everything they've done up to now is correct that is. They don't really want to take stuff, they want money, and they know that 90% of people will find the money somehow if leant on enough. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
just slightly off on a tangent here - davel - hope you get it sorted,
a word of advice to anyone - don't let bailifs in. they have to be invited in to do a walking possession and them sticking their foot in the door is forcing entry! Theyre not allowed to enter the premises unless they have a specific warrant allowing them entry.
