Income question

Hi all,

Just a quickie for you all.

I am now BR as some of you will know:D, my current circumstances are that im working on a low wage and my missus is on jobseekers.
Theres a very high chance that she will gain employment once the kids are back in school in september. Do I have to inform the OR of this or not?? I have spoken to the man at the CAB (who deals with BR only) who dealt with my case and he said that I dont because she isnt anything to do with the BR, its just myself that the OR is interested in.

This seems at odds with what i have learnt on this forum over the last few months.

Can anybody shed some light on this please??

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

the cab is correct.....the receiver is only interested in any financial changes involving you...so they dont need to know about your OH's new job as they are not BR

  • Thanks phil, its just that it would have a dramatic effect on my original SOA and I thought that I would have to submit a new SOA thats all (due to the potntial increase in "household" income).

    Brilliant!!!:T

Any changes in financial circumstances with YOU the OR will need to be told in 21 days.....later down the line IF your lucky enough to be looking at an early discharge then you may need to fill in another SOA but again the OR would only be interested in your OH's contribution...what they earn is of no interest in the OR

Have you opened this account now? or are you waiting till after BR? if
its now make sure there's just enough in to cover bills etc any further cash & the OR could be interested.......if its after BR then the OR isnt interested what you do.....so you wouldnt really need to draw cash out every week

you could open a savings account to transfer any spare cash into

YBS have been very very good giving accounts to undischarged & discharged bankrupts no questions asked....link card provided as well so you can draw cash out wherever you are :D

  • I was made BR last week and ive just applied for a basic barclays cash/debit card.
All the bills are in the GF's name and are taken from her account.
I will make sure I empty the account every week then!!

The YBS account seems like a good idea though.

    Thanks again.

I will make sure I empty the account every week then!! if its opened AFTER bankruptcy then the OR wont be interested....so you dont need to empty the account every week...they dont care about accounts opened AFTER your already bankrupt....

The YBS account seems like a good idea though. worth a try...many people here have had good results

    Thanks again.

I take it its a BR friendly account???
  • As I said, it must be a BR friendly account otherwise you wouldnt have suggested it to me and would I have to declare the account to the OR??

You need to declare all your accounts to the OR and he will tell you he has no interest in the basic account. You need to make him aware which is the basic account though.
