£20 Late Payment

Can anyone help ?.
I had a loan with Universal Credit now taken over by Paragon.
I have told them i can only make my £20 payment on the 1st of each month, not the 28th they want. So on the 1st they ring me up to tell me my payment is late, i pay the £20 then 2 days later i get a letter telling me i have been charged £20 for the late payment.
This debt will remain with me for life at this rate.
Any help would be appreciated.

You borrowed the money on their terms (and presumably signed to say you would pay the money on the 1st of each month) Check your paperwork.
The only thing you can do is scrape another £20 from somewhere (or £40 now seening as you have a late payment charge) and it will straighten itself out.
Otherwise you will have a late payment charge of £20 every month. Sorry but there is no way out of this except to do as your told.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Write to them and raise a formal complaint, there should always be a little flexibility with regards to payment date and I'm puzzled why they won't change it for you.

After 40 days if they do not provide a satisfactory solution or a final response, take your complaint to the onbudsman - you may get your charges back + interest.

I think you're being treated unfairly here and the above action will cost around £2 for recorded delivery postage.

    Good Luck
