Hi i stopped of at local spa on the way home annd got large pack of mushrooms for 20p best before date is aug 24 can i freeze these and leave them for a few days or weeks?

hello! personally i would chop them into slices or finer if you prefer, portion them up then freeze, (my mum used to open freeze on a tray first but if i freeze mushrooms they normally go in something like bolognese or soup/stock etc so i just bag them and freeze).
they'll be fine for a fair while....

Hi pennyshahin,
Providing they look and smell ok (which I'm guessing they do) they'll be fine to freeze. Food will not go off in the freezer once frozen but it can begin to deteriorate and get freezer burn if left for too long. I usually keep unblanched veg for three months max.
