I just signed up for the 10% off deal as I need some new rechargeables. You have to tell them where you are going on holiday but I thought it was interesting to see that UK was not included in the quite long list!

Bought 6 x 9v Energiser Ultimate for £5.37.
Normal price £3.99 each but they're on BOGOF's, take off 50% and the additional 10% and I've saved quite a few quid

mAH ratings for rechargeable batteries are notoriously inaccurate - I wouldn't pay much attention to them.Ally wrote:very good for 8 at that price, for regular stuff around the house. But for digital cameras, I would say get a minimum of 2500mAh;)
Your advice assumes that all cameras consume the same current. They don't, by a long way.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
get the highest possible mAh, these are still better than the alkline batteries that come with cameras, just imagin all the money you'll be saving on batteries you can use em for any purpose not just cameras, remotes, toys the led torchs radios etc.

Oh yes, I fully agree that you should never use non-rechargeables in cameras. However, most cameras come with rechargeables nowadays anyway. I suspect that some of these batteries are designed to perform once to their headline mAh figure but are so compromised that their performance rapidly deteriorates after this on subsequent recharges. It's the same basic chemistry so I am very suspicious that it seems to be improving so rapidly.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
