Getting a new mortgage when already on one?

I stood garuntour (SP?) for my sister on her mortgage, she was short on the offer for less then 10k. I now want to get my own mortgage for about 50k with my partner, my dad who is licensee of a pub had offered to stand garuntour for me - is this possible or will I need to remove myself from my sisters mortgage 1st?
I have a 70k deposit and also a good credit rating.
Thanks.

Ask your sister to contact her lender and see if your name can now be removed as guarantor.
You dont say how long ago your sister took out her mortgage and depending on the equity in her home the lender may release you0 -
