Cheapest (Consolidation) Loan

Hi,

I have a friend who is looking into taking out a loan in order to consolidate his debts. I have tried to get him to come on this site but he's not the most computer literate of people and so I'm helping him out untill he figures out how to use his laptop, as well as visit this site :)

In short his debts are made up of mortgate payments and a loan for a mo-ped so he can get to work. He sought advice from his mortage lender and they suggested Northern Rock as the source for a 'loan'.

That's all the information I have at present. So it seems we are seeking the cheapest interest rate for a 5k loan (I am assuming 5k as it seems to be appropriate to the price of his bike etc).

Any pointers as to where to look for this advice etc would be appreciated.

Thank you.
It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Before you/your friend take on any other loans read up on Martins articles at the top of the page in yellow.
Do your research throughly as you don't want a high interest loan/high monthly interest on the amount you borrow.
Have a look at the credit card articles as well as you can pay off your loan using the funds from a new 0% credit card thereby paying no interest on the money you borrow.
This also needs researching. But if your friend hasn't/won't visit the site then there is not much hope of the above being put into effect.
Get him onto the site ASAP.
