Graduate desperately searching for a job

Use your skills to get some websites built, so you have something to show to a prospective employer (for jobs that involve webdesign, programming etc).
Do a good job though, preferably get them popular... Hard to do though.
Usually IT jobs will go to those with experience, and people need to work their way up the chain.
Its a dodgy career to get into, as you can spend years learning a skill, then microsoft can come along (for example) and make it obsolete quite quickly. Many jobs tie you down to one type of language/tool, and when that tool/language has had its day, you could be on the scrap heap.
More and more jobs are going abroad to cheap programmers in india (never mind the quality, look how cheap it is sort of thing), and what jobs are left will be highly fought over.
If you can program etc, try offering your services for free to a local company, or charity to knock something up for them on condition you can use them on your cv, and they are willing to tell any prosective employer how great your solution was/is.
Find out if their are any large local employers near you in the field you are interested in, and check out the pubs near them - you will almost certainly be able to find out which pub the staff drink in fairly easily, and get to know them......
Be careful where you try to get work though, some large corporations can suck your soul out and leave you in the pits of hell.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
ps - voluntart work in the nhs can be good, I did some years ago, really loved it.
Although these days there is a lot ot tales of bullying in the NHS so dont know if it would be as good a move these days. Perhaps as your would be unpaid, the bullying would not occur...
Certainly worth a try though, always good for the old cv.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

You should try the likes of McDonalds/Burger King in the meantime, They usually recruit alot of people.
If you can get anywhere near one, as a4e have probably got all the single mothers queing up outside them demaning whatever jobs they have available....[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Tried both of those too. I apply for hundreds, yet most of the interviews come from random phone calls from agencies.
I'm thinking about setting up a websites that lets people know the pro's and con's of going to University, however it will mainly be targeted at graduates in need of a job, helping them to get a job, offering advice etc etc.
I know it might seem like a step back as im helping other people instead of myself but I might learn a thing or too from it and could possibly make some money from advertisement. Anyone willing to help?Cashback
