hiya..can anyone advise me ..
i had a part time job and started another one last week..job one was 10 hours job two was 20 hours...was dithering about and thought i would keep both...i handed in a p46 at job 2 ticking in the "this is a second job" box and on friday decided to hand notice into job one ...now im waiting on my p45...when i hand that in will that stop me getting BR tax?(me earnings were well under my tax code)..am basically needing to know if the p45 will in effect delete the p46 ..or will they think i still have 2 jobs??:eek:.......................?thanks in advancexx

Yes, you need to hand the P45 from job 1 in to your new job and make it clear to the new job that this cancels the P46.
Did you earn enough to pay tax in job 1? If not, you wont get a P45 and you will need to ask job 2 for another P46 which you will sign top say its your main job. You will then need to contact the tax office to get a cumulative code sorted out.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
