I bought one when I was going through my doing my ironing myself phase, ended up selling it on ebay as it was gathering dust in the cupboard!0 -
this is something I have thought about but not as a business (sp) just a lil something on the side, this is what I posted in one of my threads, would be grateful for some advice and thoughts?
Just chatting to hubby about doing some kind of work, I really want to get into college next year and gain qualifications in health and fitness but till then i want to jsut do something to help out,
I would happily do something like take in peoples ironing or something, but how would it work, I mean tax, or self employed or would it not matter I dont know its confusing,
also as at mo I dont drive, would it be rude to say to people to drop it off to me before htye go work then get them to pick it up end of day, or how much to charge,
does any of that make any sense?0 -
My friend has someone to iron her stuff and the lady gives her plastic laundry bags a bit like the ikea bags then she weights it with a luggage type hand held measure an they agree on the door step how much each bag will amount to in £ to iron, all shirts come back on hangers cheap type like drycleaners .0

Hi just been reading ur thread... i do my own ironing now but in my good old days of plenty of money I used an ironing lady every 2 weeks. she would collect on a monday in one of those big tartain plastic laundry bags, weigh it before she took it away and i would know what she would charge... probably around £60 a big bag. she would bring it back on the weds eve all on hangers covered in plastic covers. very good service.
good luck with it!Highest Debt £581,000 Nov 08 and now owe nothing! yes really! I have learnt my lesson the hard way!
