Halifax loan

Hi peeps, i went into the halifax last month for a review on my account and they said i had been approved for a 12k loan, did i want it ?? i wasnt sure at the time so i left it, gonna be doing some improvedments on my home this month and the loan could be useful now, can anyone tell me whether this pre approved loan means iam guaranteed to be accepted or whether they will carry out alkl the normal checks as i dont want a ton of searches on my file.
Any advice from someone that has taken up one of these halifax pre approved loan offers in branch would be very appreciated.

Thanks.

I think they would do a detailed search just to check - but won't want to let you down.

More the issue James is that branch based loans are often really uncompetitive compared to what you could get online or from shopping around - for one, you aren't having to pay commission to the branch staff for the loan sale!

If your credit rating is good and you have a low debt to income ratio then you should look at the best buy tables and try to see what rate you can get there - if that fails then I would try the Halifax branch route.
