Best online calorie/food tracker?

Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend an online site for tracking daily/weekly food consumption and working out daily % of calories/fat etc? There just seem to be so many I'm not sure which to go with.

I normally cook from scratch, so need to be able to put my recipes in, preferably to store them so I don't need to put them in from scratch each time. Also one which allows me to log calorie expenditure from exercise.

Ta.

I used to use CalorieKing, but it's not free. It cost me £15 about 5 years ago. But it's $45 now. It's a piece of software that's downloaded onto your computer, and has a large database of items already, but it's american. It enables you to add your own items and exercise. Provides a breakdown by food group (fats/carbs/fibre/protein).

I really like it but have since got a Mac and can't transfer my key to it :( If anyone can recommend a free one similar, I'd love to know. I tried weightlossresources but couldn't get on with it.

Ta. Does that mean the weights/measures are all in ounces and cups etc?
  • No, you could change them between g or lbs and ounces.

Same for when putting your weight in, you can do it in kilos or lbs.

The free trial is here: http://www.calorieking.com/software/ckdietdiarywin.php#freetrial Only 7 days, but it'll give you an idea of what it can do.

And it's free! Think I would prefer a web based one rather than installing software as I use multiple computer.

    Thanks folks/.
  • I use www.sparkpeople.com, it's free, is American but there is getting a larger database of Uk stuff, and you can search on what other people have input as well. Can set your own cal/fat/carb etc figures and it'll show all that too, as well as a daily/weekly report with pie charts and everything! Great for geeks like me!

Also tries to keep you motivated by giving points for logging on, logging food, reaching targets etc. Can keep track of exercise as well for the bigger picture.

I've used weightlossresources.co.uk before, which I thought was very good at the time. Peeked at Tesco one but didn't like that as much.
