Will my parents house be "doomed"?

If I go bankrupt from my parents address will there be a "black listed cloud" over their house for 6 years?
I am looking into going bankrupt and they are unsure about me doing it from their address.
Can someone advise me if this is true, or just my mum being ill advised by her friends?
thanks.

Addresses are no longer blacklisted, so your mum's friends are VERY ill advised.
Your credit record is personal to you. The only way your bankruptcy could effect someone else's record is if you have any joint accounts/loans etc with them.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

No bankruptcy is about the person not their address.

Nope.
Blacklisting houses is a myth. A long-standing, now "public knowledge", but a myth nevertheless. Credit ratings are personal.
The only time that your parents may have an issue with a credit rating alone, is if they are financially linked to you in anyway (like a joint bank account or mortgage etc).
Unless you are listed on the mortgage or the deeds of your parents house then the official receiver has no interest in it whatsoever. Its not yours.
Get your Mum to ask as many questions as she likes and we will answer them, with correct knowledge and gusto!0 -
Thanks for your speedy and helpful responses guys....I will print and show to my mum!!
I thought that was the case but she was insistent that blacklisting still happened. thanks for the confirmation that I am judged alone by my Credit rating through the likes of Equifax not by my address!
Your all stars!
Thanks again.***BR Sept 29th 2009****
