Tesco Value Jaffa Cakes (24 pack) - only 38p

These were 50-something (56p rings a bell) a few weeks ago but are now 38p both instore and online (this is for a double-sized pack - of 24). The orange bit isn't quite as tangy as McVities but I can hardly taste the difference! Makes a change for Tesco to reduce the cost of a value item! :T

Good for dieters as only 1g of fat in each one! (you can have 12 of these for the same amount of fat of a Mars Bar!!!!!).

Also 38p in Sainsburys, seems bizzare they are so low in price, especially as they were 65p before.

I bought some from Sainsburys. I never really noticed the price on them before. I wonder who lowered the price first Tesco or Sainsburys?

Or maybe the ingredients are cheaper (seasonal perhaps), so the overall wholesale price is cheaper. They will most likely have come from the same factory as each other anyway.

Well....if you do the "jaffa cake thing" and first start by licking the chocolate off the top, then bite around the edge of the orange bit, and then peel the orange bit off, and then eat the cake bit, and save all the orangey bits until last..... (am I the only one who does this!!!! :eek:)...then you will find that your 12 cakes will last alot longer than your Mars Bar.....! :rotfl:

We much prefer the Sainsburys basics jaffa cakes to any other version we've tried (certainly better than Mcvities). Don't just take my word for it, here's a review from a life-long jaffa cake 'nut', lol.

I suspected there might be a bit of a Jaffa Cake price war going on a week or two back, both T & S 24 packs used to be 60p, then they both dropped to 50p, and now both 38p....yep seems like a price war to me! Won't last though, a couple of weeks time it will be some other product no doubt so stock up now if you like em lol

i think asdas joined aswell, as i notice they have dropped the price from 50p to 38p

Tesco have 24 for 38p but it looks like Asdas is only 12 for 38p, am I seeing this right?
