Best place to buy a fridge-freezer??

Hi experts
I desperately need a new fridge - my old larder fridge has finally got to go. It's a 20 year old Husqvarna - they don't make them any more and I'm trying to find a combo that has the same space in the fridge with a small freezer under.
I have looked at AEG, Samsung, Hotpoint and few others but the prices vary from £399.99 - £699.99 and I'm totally out of touch as to a good make. Should I make sure it has separate thermostats in case one part goes wrong the other will keep working?
Also, John Lewis, Curry's or Dixons or any other suggestions as a good place to shop.
I will buy online but want a good make/deal/guarantee.
All help/advice much appreciated.
