Repossession notification

Went to court almost two weeks ago and was given 28 days notice to vacate although I understand there is some other process (a warrant to enter?) that will add maybe a couple of weeks onto this time period.

Firstly I was told I'd be officially informed of the courst decision within about a week but haven't heard a word since. To whom should I enquire about this? The court or the other party's solicitior?

Secondly, does anyone what is the other procedural formality that must be gone through? I knew nothing about this.

Thanks.

Hi Mike, the court will produce the order and send it out for you - they aim to do it within 10 working days so if you havent received it by the middle of next week give the court a ring to chase it up.

After the 28 days the claimant has to apply for a warrant of possession, you will then receive an eviction date which will be hand delivered giving you the date and time that the bailiffs will evict (usually about 2 weeks after the warrant is issued) x x

    Thanks.

When you say hand delivered do you mean I actually have to receive it by hand in person?

Yes, whenever possible that is correct, however, the time span between outright possession and the lender actually applying for eviction varies from, in my experience, a couple of weeks to 9 months, average 3 months, but that is a guide only.
