It would depend on whether it is a college or a work based apprenticeship, if the child is employed and goes to college for 1 or 2 days a week and gets paid a wage then maintenance will stop, if the child goes to college then out to a placement for 1 or 2 days a week then it will continue. Hope that makes sense, sorry I'm not sure about carers allowance though.0

I was told by the CSA that if my daughter starts an apprenticeship, CM payments would stop as she has an income of her own (albeit a small one!). This is under the new system, though, so I'm not sure if it will apply to you.
I don't know anything about the carer's allowance.0 -
thanks for your reply debt12, she doesnt actually go to college as this training is done through the ymca, she does 1 day study at the ymca about 6 hours, then 4 days at a nursery in a school so would payments still have to be made?0
