Wait a second.
I go to buy something at Argos today and notice some England World Cup 'charity wristbands'. !!!!!! it I thought, I'll buy one.
Anyway turned out the transaction had to be processed through the till and Argos seem to have the price fixed at £1!
('Suggested Donation')
Isn't the idea of a 'suggested donation' that it is just a guideline and you can donate as much or as little as you want? :S

well i suppose they have to cover costs of the item to ensure that all the more genrous donations do actually reach the charity.
if it is programmed in the same way as tick to give, then the cashier can enter whaever amount you tell them toknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Meh, its only a £1 and its for a good cause, although to be fair i think i'm the only person in my store who has bought one . we've got like 1000 as well.
I think the staff will put it through at a £1 unless you tell them otherwise, obviously some people will give more etc, as well as those cheap skates0 -
I really don't understand. How the hell is the World Cup a charity? How does football - with all its overpaid players and managers - need money?? :rolleyes:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Errr its not going to football, they are selling football styled wristbands because of the world cup hoping they sell
All the profits are going the Help the Hospices (which supports the hospice nearest the store), if anyone has one, look at the inside it and it says "supporting hospice care"0 -
Thank you, Mack - I understand now!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

the wristbands aren't set to a certain price, but like sum1 mentioned before, we generally automatically put £1 in the til because that's whats on the box. but if you ask to only pay a penny, you can. just about everyone in my store has at least one. a lot have one on each wrist!0
