Admin Fees

Hi
I was wondering if anyone was able to advise on Administrative fees etc, basically my mum has fallen behind in payments with certain catalogues she had agreed with them a set amount to pay back every month to clear any monies owing, however sometimes she is unable to get into town to make payments on time n she then incurs a £15.00 Admin fee.
Is this allowed? as she is only paying back £5 or £10 a month back, she is no longer working and is unwell, therefore unable make the original payments.
If anyone could advise would be most grateful.
Thanks.

A couple of ideas off the top of my head:
1. Pay by standing order - not direct debit. I wouldn't trust a catalogue firm to operate one.
2. Switch the debt on to something that doesn't charge ridiculous interest rates.
3. If there are multiple debts and she can afford at least £5 per month to each of them, set up a DMP with CCCS (link at top of page)0 -

Why not pay using internet banking?
And also, if an agreement has been made... stick to it!0
