reassessment on CS1

Hi, I'm looking for information regarding being reassessed. I have a 14 year old son and havent been assessed since about the year 2000. I did phone the CSA a few years ago and they said they would not do a reassessment unless I had evidence that my ex's income had increased, which I didnt.
My ex now has another child who is about 1 yrs old and my son's CSA payments did not change.
I was wanting to know of other people's experience of reassessment on CSA1 ie. did their payments go down? As both parents incomes have no doubt went up over the years.
I am worried about asking for a reassessment incase the payments reduce, as I may have to cut my work hours soon .
Thanks in advance x

Are you on talking terms with your ex?
It will always be a risk to ask for a re assessment especially as they now have a child together. Can you speak to your ex if you want/need more money?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
hi thanks for replying Dancing Shoes,-no we're not on speaking terms,so it wouldnt be possible to ask.0

Under CS1 there are many things which could affect an assessment, the main ones being housing costs and income. If ex has a partner who works, you could ask for a departure on the grounds that the partner can contribute towards his housing costs which will free up money to use in the assessment - your call of course, but whatever you do, you risk getting less, but do obviously stand to gain if his circumstances fit. It depends on how you are coping financially at the moment - do you feel it should be more?0

Sorry, meant to go on to say that if he is happily paying and you are coping, it may be just worth sitting tight as both sides are ok.0

thanks kelloggs, I feel the payment should be more as his income has went up and his partner also works. I am coping just now but my hours are going to be reducing, so that will affect my income x0

Apply for a new assessment and then apply for a departure for the housing costs to be apportioned to the partner.0

Thanks kelloggs I will do that.0

Please bear in mind that his partner may not go back to work after having her baby and you would be moved onto csa2
Ie 15% for your son after 15% taken off his take home pay0 -
Why would the case be moved over to CS2 if his current partner has had a baby? Please bear in mind that his partner may not go back to work after having her baby and you would be moved onto csa2

I thought that the only way that would happen would be if he split with this current partner & she then put in a claim to the CSA.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!):beer:
CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer::beer:0 -
if your on speaking terms i would get the assement done and then come up with a private agreement0
