I have a week to get an abba outfit  I did buy one off the internet but when it arrived it is VERY short and VERY see thru., so will definitely not be wearing that, I can't let my friend down so any suggestions for a new outfit would be gratefully received.
Does anybody have any ideas that I could perhaps make one, any ideas on footwear and wigs ?

What is the outfit like. I would say it would be better to adjust the one you have bought. e.g put something underneath that will stop outfit being see through. You could also add something to the bottom to lengthen .0 -

It's just plain white but it's in the material of a nylon (like school shorts are made of) eek !, it has a loose blue belt (which seems to make it worse) I look like a sack of spuds, no change there then :rotfl: !! I could try and wear a long white t shirt underneath it (hee hee hope I dont get run over), it's still short though, did Abba used to wear trousers tucked in boots ?0 -
I don't think Abba ever wore trousers tucked in boots. Even if they did you have to go for the most obvious aspects for fancy dress or people won't know who you are. The classic look for the Abba girls is a short straight cut tunic with a waist belt and knee high boots. Small crochet beanie hats and head scarves tied straight round the head from the forehead and knotted of centre of the back , rambo style, with trailing ends and also associated with the girls from Abba.
I'd go with an oversized white t-shirt as a dress (with or without the costume over it) and a head scarf tied round the waist as a belt. You could help preserve your modesty with shorties or opaque dance tights. Another head scarf tied around the head or a crochet beanie is a simple addition that will press the right buttons in peoples minds. Biggest problem is the knee length boots which should be patent white or silver. If you can find a pair of knee high boots in charity shop or something you could spray them silver with car touch up spray. Since knee high boots aren't easy to come by though perhaps some sort of gator? This gives a good idea of what you are going for.0 -
that's gret Kittiwoz thank you so much, I think I'd much prefer Benny's outfit :rotfl: I'll have a look for the boots, the dress I have is a bit like that, think I'll go for the dance tights and the T shirt, (might hold everything in too)my mate's going as the blonde one, did Frida wear a beanie too ? I'll just have to have a few wines and then it won't matter so much :rotfl: that's great though, thank you for all your replies, you've been a great help0
