Help forgot to salt my beef!

Been lurking around here for ages and ages taking advantage of the wonderful cooking advice which has taken me and my OH from eating ready meals to home-cooked meals at least 3-4 nights a week (starting sloly and building up).
I bought a slow cooker and been using it to make curries but I got a bit of silverside that was reduced in asda and thought I'd cook it slowly in the SC, I put it in at 9am this morning but I forgot to add salt! I only just discovered about 30 mins and threw in some salt but I don't know if I can save it or not.
Any ideas would be very welcome as would tips to try and hide the mistake from my OH so he doesn't get put off would be much appricated.

don't worry, i never season my meat if i slow cook it, and i rarely salt it when cooking as that can draw moisture out unless sealed (which your's will be by now!)
if he notices tell him that too much salt is bad for you and you are trying a few different things to reduce it, then ask if they like how you did xyz and change the subjectNonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

Thanks IOIWE, if says anything I usually say "I'll remember that for next time" which hushes him unless it's really bad and it goes on about it for weeks. I can't even say cook it yourself then as his back is recovering from an op so I have to do all the cooking.0

I never add salt to any food when I'm cooking and I've never had any complaints - in fact OH and BIL say my roast dinners are better than MILA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
I'm another one who does not add salt to my cooking unless I absolutely have to. Usually turns out ok. Used to leave salt pot on the table but usually don't bother now (unless my Dad is here!). I usually throw in some mixed herbs, wine or tomatos etc but that's if i'm doing a beef stew. Would love to know how the silverside turns out as i've never tried cooking a single piece of beef in my sc.0

It turned out really well, it fell apart when you looked at it but that's how we prefer our meat. Used the onions and juices to make gravy- cheated because I added water and bisto- which was really nice. Served with mash and yorkies and all in all it was a sucess.
Fuuny thing about seasoning, I always add a little bit of salt when cooking as I can taste the difference. I'll never forget the incident where I forgot to salt the potatoes- they were vile, didn't matter how much I added after they were still awful.0 -
Why would it make any difference when you add the salt?0
