halifax mortgage process...

I am currently going through a mortgage with the Halifax just wondering if anyone knows generally how long they take to advise of decision/mortgage offer.

I have had my AIP and submitted full application, valuation has been carried out on property and everything was ok therefore just awaiting their decision..

any help would be gratefully received..

my friend has a mortgage with Abbey & said that she could go onto their intermediaries site & check the status of her application do you know if there is something like this for Halifax..

Usually pretty good.

If you've provided all documentation and the valuation is clean I'd expect an offer within days.

I had my valuation on Wednesday and received my mortgage offer this morning. So pretty quick really! Hope your goes as smoothly.

They certainly used to. When I applied for my mortgage in 2007 with them, I got a letter with a password to get into their website where I could check the progress.

I got the letter before the valuation was done, though, so if you haven't had one then maybe they've stopped this.
