Flaming Lloyds

They ring and ring and ring!

Today it's not me they want it's my husband. I'm sick of telling them he's at work.

Snotty so and so instructed that I have to take their number and call them when he gets in. Well little quiet timid me lost it and said no, I've repeatedly told you were bankrupt and have been for two weeks, there's no way I am calling an 0845 number to speak to you, you want to speak to us then you have to do it when you catch us in. We're bankrupt, what you're calling us about has nothing to do with us any more, i'm tired of telling your colleagues this you can talk to him when you catch him. Good bye.

Ha. I'm sick of it though, surely they shouldn't be calling us now. Ive given them my reference numbers of the OR but they won't allow me to do it on behalf of my husband and there's no way i'm giving them his work or mobile number. Tuff. They can wait.

it takes about 8 weeks for a report to be issued to all the creditors, best to just ignore them now that you have told them, they are quite capable of checking it out if they wanted to

you could ask the caller if they are being paid today, as they are wasting their own time (and their company's time) and could be doing something more usefull.

Im exactly the same, we have only been BR a few days but one particular DCA has rung every day since (and every day for the last 2 months!!), twice a day usually about 8 am then again about 7pm  Most of the time the phone is silent and we must be on the end of a computer dialling us, but the other day a person spoke to my DH.

He told them we are now BR and gave the BR no. and was then told 'you cant go BR when you have arrears to pay' What is wrong with these people? Ax

Hi, speaking as someone who works for a Insolvency Company, the best course of action to take is write a simple letter with the following information to lloyds - this is one of the only ways to fully stop Lloyds form contacting you.

    1. Inform them in the letter of the COURT, COURT REFERENCE NUMBER AND YEAR OR BANKRUPTCY

    2. Get a photocopy of the bankruptcy order

Thats it, that it all what is needed. With a copy of the order, this should stop them. However this is very common, the debt could be passed to another debt company to deal with. The best thing to do is keep copies of the letters as spares and everytime you get a telephone call or letter, send them a copy of the ADHOC letter you have written and a copy of the order.

Believe me, speaking as someone who both works with insolvency and who has been bankrupt, this is a common issue and you are not alone!
